week9 100 meter dash

Session 9 So did this week go by faster than Carl Lewis can run the 100 meter dash?
My Mom came to town so I lost the weekend to her visit. It was a great visit, plus she was able to spend her b-day here.
This week I felt like I was racing against Carl Lewis. He probably ran the race this week at 9:89 seconds and myself at 25:95, so you can see I have a bit to do.
I was able to finish off the IRB, blog on everyones blog, learn too many cool things to do with the blog, I spent some time updating my masters webpage, and to continued the work on the prototype. This week I will have some of my students putting the prototype to the test. I am excited and stressed out at the same time. It is interesting to think that all the work that we have been doing will be coming to an end.
Another side techie thing I learned how to do:
Record TV on my computer. I am now no longer in need of TiVo :-) I tested it out with Good Eats last night and today while I was finishing out my visit with my mom. :-)

Goals for this week: Stay on top of my Blog, finish out the prototye testing, and get cooking on the revisions.
Wish me luck.

Side Question of the week:
What is the highest temp have you see this get too?

week8- Brings in a sigh of relief

Session 8 Yesterday I was a Pod man, I listened to the to podcasts Newberry told us about. While I was doing that I decided to be productive and see what work I need to get done. Fortunately I am right on track. My kids will be alpha testing my prototype and some of the curriculum I have access to in the next few weeks. That is forcing me to be efficient with my time, with the prototype that is.

I am about to make the Blog run, after I make the nightly walk with the dogs. The Blog run is getting easier because not everyone is updating.

More later......Go back to the begining weeks if you missed them. I have added a little Flair to them.

Keep checking back...... it always gets better....See.....

I had time to see how stressed I am. Now your assignment is to see how stressed you are and report back to me. Click on the link below my stress meter and complete the quiz. You will be graded on a 10 point scale: 10 points for actually reading this blog, doing the silly quiz and reporting back to me, or getting your stress meter into your blog. 7 points for reading the blog and making a cute comment about how I am wasting my time learning silly things like how to link in online stupidities instead of doing my work, 5 points for just looking at my page and skipping this post (oh, yes I am onto you folks), and 0 points for not taking the time to look at your fellow classmates work :-)

Your Stress Level is: 69%

You are prone to stress, and you're probably even pretty stressed right now.
Life's problems seem to pile up on you, and this often makes you feel depressed and burned out.
Learn to take time to relax and enjoy life, even if things are stressful. It's the only wa you'll get through the bad times.

week7- CA-Atlanta-Ft.Meyers, oh yes hand in work, and back to Atlanta, still there.....

Session 7 this week found me in route to my mother-in-laws wedding in Florida. So I hastily whipped out my work to Newberry, and later recieved a grade. I additionally handed in my IRB and my Masters Proposal. I now had a chance to look at the syllabus (Tip: bring a hardcopy in canse you cannot access the interrnet) and realized I have a bit more time to work on it.
Tonight I am making the Blog circut from room 2011 of the Holiday Inn in Atlanta Georgia, thaks to mother nature and a 10 minute delay with my airline carrier.
So in the nature of all that is fun I will add this picture. Gas in Atlanta is only $2.87 for the cheap stuff :-) So I loaded up a suitcase of it and I am bringing it back as my suvenier.
To close out, I had no questions about my weather display on the right of the Blog. I was quite proud of it. :-(

week6-just finished the blog circut

I will add more to this blog as the week continues, so please check back later, and bring a friend to help me with my procrastination <-- :-) Session 6 Singh(2006) said, "Tonight i hit the blog-circuit" and that is what I did. I esp loved the photo on FlyFishing 4 Math vouches for me.

I sent off my pile, I mean my Lit Review right before the guys in the white coats came to get me. Whew, now with this nugget of hope: "I won't be grading lit reviews until Friday at the earliest... so if you sent another version I might grade it instead of the one sent tonight! " I will not rest easy until my pile of dung has been brought to and fro from my jump drive to my computer at school and my computer at home and resubmitted on Friday (thanks Stasie for the laughs).

week5-Is the class half over, or half started?

Session 5 At CSUSB it is time for a refill :-) Dumb joke in this context, funny when refering to the glass of spirits!
I have been busy with my MA project app, my IRB, and polishing off my Lit Review. I met with Newberry today, the 26th not my blog date stamp. I blogged until my heart was content, thanks Dr. Newberry for the kind words about my Blogging skills :-).
Today the 2nd, I am polishing off my Lit. Review. Trying to get it to the magic number of pages Newberry recommended. All I can say is it is hard to do so when your motivation is down, and you have other distractions that pull your time and efforts away from this class.
Back to my meeting with Newberry, he recommended that I go to week 6 site and preview everything before trying to get my MA proposal and IRB done. Why you may ask? Because he does not get to meet some of us and when he has to be the first reader he likes to have all the applications in a specific way so he knows what we have been working on. My tip, listen to Newberry and don't reinvent the wheel like I tried. :-)
PDC summer school notes:
  • Session 1 5 weeks: EDUC 603 is M and W, EDUC 605 is T and TH
  • Session 2 5 weeks: There are no session 2 classes for our MA program
  • Session 3 10 weeks:EDUC 607 is T and TH, but overlaps with 605. You need to march with Keith and I at the PDC campus to get them to open this up to us so we can graduate in Winter Quarter.
  • Session 1 5 weeks online: ETEC 676 is Newberry's totally online elective that will be on Blogging (I wonder what that is?:-) and Podcasting. If you need an elective, take it because there should be no face to face meetings, and any class you can take from Newberry will be a good one (hoping for the brown nose points here:-)
  • Fin Aid application is a one pager (simple), you fill it out and drop it off at the PDC campus at Seniora's desk, or bring it to the main campus.

Here is to Summer registration :-) and finishing off our lit review.
